In January we realized a two decade long dream by finalizing the purchase of our own winery in the heart of Monterey County’s Santa Lucia Highlands. Our 15 acre winery complex includes four small estate vineyards, ample facilities for our tasting room, the ability to host private events, and space to expand our wine production. As Steve Pessagno says, “We are truly in the midst of what has become one of the world’s premiere wine-growing regions. This is the perfect place to continue handcrafting our vineyard–designated wines and do our part to promote the local food, wine lifestyle and regional charm.”
Since opening day, we’ve been busy! Our tasting room has become a popular stop for fine wine lovers traveling the River Road wine corridor. Last fall, we expanded the 1,800-case production facility to accommodate 10,000 cases. We’re just releasing 6 new wines, and for those of you who follow the La Tache clone of Pinot Noir, we have 4 separate 2003 vineyard designates. At your request, we’re announcing the start of our Pessagno Cellar Club so you may receive our limited production wines. We’re also opening our Highlands House vacation home rental centrally located on the winery estate. Cellar Club Members are being offered an introductory discount. Please check out our facilities available for your private events.
Over the coming year we’ll make many changes and look forward to personally meeting you at our new tasting room. We’re 16.5 miles south of Hwy. 68 on River Rd., and 4 miles west of Gonzales. Please come and visit us!
